Read the Fine Print in Early Action/Decision Deadlines

on September 26, 2009 in Alerts, Application Process

Recent announcements by colleges that Early Action and Early Decision Deadlines may be moved up in certain circumstances is a reminder that students need to check the websites for the colleges they are applying to early in order to confirm the deadlines. Stanford has moved up the Early Action deadline to October 15th for those students submitting the Arts Supplement. Duke (all materials due) and MIT (schedule interview only, no materials required at that time) have an earlier deadline for those students interested in scheduling an alumni interview, and other colleges (Whittier College, for example) are moving up deadlines if students are interested in particular scholarships. This is a reminder to check the admissions pages of all of your colleges to confirm deadline details (The Common Application posted deadlines are general) as well as the financial aid pages for scholarship deadlines.
