image_galleryStudents and their families are Invited to Tour Cal Maritime’s Training Ship “GOLDEN BEAR” as it stops in Seattle on Wednesday, July 3. The following is information provided by Cal Maritime regarding the tour and visit to Seattle.

At the California Maritime Academy, “California” may be in our title, but we are Washington and Oregon’s designated maritime academy as the only school of this type in the Western U.S. Our connections to Puget Sound and the Columbia River run deep due to our many alumni who work with shipping, engineering, and international trade connecting the Pacific Northwest to the rest of the world.  Our waterside campus on San Francisco Bay, close community of 975 students, and oceans of global opportunity make us so much more than just another mainland college option.

We are one of the 23 California State University campuses and fully participate in the WUE program. All students in all majors admitted from Washington and Oregon are offered the WUE Scholarship.

The California Maritime Academy’s Training Ship GOLDEN BEAR will be stopping in Washington and Oregon during this summer’s training cruise. You, your students, and colleagues are invited to take advantage of this free opportunity to tour the ship when it stops in Seattle or Portland and see how it is used to expose our students to the maritime industry, to life as the member of a ship’s crew, and to the excitement of international ports around the Pacific.

In Seattle the tour time is 9:00 am on Wednesday, July 3rd.  You should be leaving the ship by 11:30 am. We will send you an e-mail one week before the event with the exact docking location, but it will be very close to the Cruise Ship Terminal on Alaskan Way .

To reserve your spot for the ship tour, please click here and select the Admissions News headline mentioning the Golden Bear at the bottom of the page.  You can also go to the page directly here.
