At OSU, both the College of Engineering and the College of Business provide GPA and course requirements online for future majors and all students who meet the minimum GPA and course requirements will be admitted; there are no restrictions if these are met. Students in the College of Engineering may participate in paid internships including the Mecop Program. OSU has teamed up with a German consortium to form the Global Formula Racing Team. Their combustion car placed first for the fourth consecutive year at this year’s Formula Student Austria competition.

Apparel Design and Merchandizing Management, both strong programs for many years have been moved to the School of Business to give students a more applied approach to career opportunities. Interior Design, Marketing, Information Systems and Entrepreneurship are offered along with other areas of focus in the College of Business.

As a land, sea, space and sun grant institution, OSU has more research grants than all six of the other Oregon universities combined. Explore the links above to learn more about their extensive research in a wide variety of fields from psychology, to sustainable living landscapes, and energy. The College of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences is home to the Ocean Science program and includes a residential program in Newport, Oregon, where students can study for a semester. OSU is also performing extensive research for the Earthquake and Tsunami Preparedness Program.

OSU offers a wide array of study abroad opportunities, including a unique program in Ecotourism and Marine Life in Antarctica. Many international internships in a wide variety of disciplines are available.

OSU offers living learning communities for freshman, including a health & well-being, arts & social justice and Honors College option among a few. The University Honors College (UHC) is one of just a few in the country offering a separate degree. Students in the UHC have access to enhanced experiences including study abroad, research, internships, and service learning. The UHC creates an entirely new curriculum each academic year featuring some of OSU’s most inspiring teachers. Ten percent of students at OSU participate in the Greek system. Students are required to live on campus freshman year at this residential campus. Off-campus housing is relatively inexpensive in the safe college town of Corvallis.

Scholarships are plentiful for out-of-state students, despite the fact that OSU does not participate in the Western Undergraduate Exchange. Departmental aid is also available for freshmen, as some upper class scholarships go unused and can be applied for during the freshmen application process. Students with a full IB diploma enter as sophomores at OSU and are awarded $3,000 per year. Students may use Running Start and AP credits for credit at OSU.

OSU Cascades campus in Bend, Oregon has a student population under one thousand with housing available and 18 majors including energy systems engineering, tourism and a leadership program. Students can apply to one or both campuses of OSU.

OSU offers a rolling admission process, and students will hear soon after applying, particularly if they apply early in the cycle. There is a minimum 3.0 GPA for general admission, however students with lower GPAs may be admitted with higher scores. Admissions will continue to use the six questions in the OSU ” insight resume“. Several Spring Open Houses are still open for high school student visits.
